Polypropylene (PP) is a semi-crystalline, thermoplastic material with high rigidity and very good chemical resistance. Polypropylene is characterized by a CH3 side group in the monomer building block, which can be arranged in different spatial positions during polymerization. The different spatial arrangements are decisive for the physical properties and are divided into isotactic (regular, one-sided arrangement in the macromolecule), syndiotactic (regular, double-sided arrangement in the macromolecule) and atactic (irregular, random arrangement in the macromolecule).
